Family Overland Adventure in The Sahara? You Bet. On Camels, Too.

email this page

This is exactly what makes adventure travel with kids the best. They're not just out for a Saharan sunset camel ride. They're there to learn.

"They would save camel poop and burn it instead of wood," you hear the gentleman narrator say right about 2:05.

"Why?" A little girl's voice probes.

"Well, because. Do you see much wood out here?"

Serendipitous timing for this one. In my latest column in Overland Journal (Fall 2010), I made a wise crack at the end about taking a family trip across the Sahara - what do you know? They're out here doing it.
