To Move and Inspire You: Wild & Scenic Film Festival Is Coming to a Town Near You

email this page

The Wild & Scenic Film Festival could be coming to your town pretty soon. There's a good chance, too, that you and your family will love it. This is a touring version of the much larger festival that was held in California earlier this year that promised, and delivered, a beautiful selection of inspiring images and moving narratives promoting the protection of wild places. That's a cause we can all get behind.

Next week the festival will be in my home town of Tempe, Arizona for just three hours. One of the films to be seen is in this trailer above; a piece that discusses the power of photography with a number of notable wildlife photographers. I'm kind of a sucker for the photography thing, and my own daughter loves looking at photos of real critters in the wild, but there are other topics that might rub your soft spot, too.

The sampling of films and activities that comes to your town may or may not change from the original line up, so you'll need to check with the organization that's hosting near you. No matter. If you go, chances are good that you're going to be inspired. Which means it's worthwhile for the whole family, too. Again, depending on the host, it should only set you back about $15 a person, less for your halflings, while supporting your local wildlife organization.
