Okay. Before we get too carried away, it's no secret that just getting out the door with (what seems like an mutinous army of) children, or one cantankerous opinionated toddler requires no small amount of courage, desire, and promise of endless tasty snacks.

But that's nothing.

This short film by Sean Mullens about his paraplegic friend, Michael, shines a spotlight on the real matter of desire. The effort required of him to get out the door, down the road and into the water for a session in the waves is only offset by, apparently, his motivation to get out there, to experience "just to be what you were meant to be," as he narrates. And once he's out there, he makes discoveries that only the engagement in the difficult can reveal.

Watching Micheal work his board from porch to ground to Jeep to road to beach to surf will make you ache. And it'll be inspiring.
