A Life Well Lived | Jim Whittaker & 50 Years of Everest

50 years ago this year, Jim Whittaker made history as the first American to summit Mount Everest. 50 years. He's now 84 years old and having coined the saying, "If you aren't living on the edge, you are taking up too much space," it's apparently fair game to ask the fella what he thinks of his time spent taking up space and if it was ever too much. That's this video from Eric Becker. That quote is so cavalier that it's hard to imagine that it comes from the same guy who says when he goes outdoors, he enters his "own personal cathedral and know where I fit in the vastness of creation." But that's the beauty of it. Here's Whittaker talking about his love of our mysterious and beautiful planet, and the voyage of finding out about yourself when you head out into wild spaces for a bit of adventure. I think I agree with the fella.

The Sunday Morning Chillax is here while you're enjoying a cup of coffee in the quiet morning as your kids, hopefully, sleep in. No need to read, this is always a video; something to give you happy thoughts about mountains, fresh air, stoke, fun, or being outside. Enjoy. Relax. And, um, not guaranteed to be weekly — hey, you get what you pay for, but it's a dang good bargain.
